Apache Britney

Britney amazed me at her talent and sparkle when we did these photographs just before Christmas. She was on the drill team at The Colony High School and now is in her second year as an Apache Belle. I'm very proud of her.

Santa's visit

Santa was his typical light hearted self this weekend. He had a blast visiting all of the good girls and boys. I'm so happy that he took time out of his busy schedule to play with us. Everyone had a great time. If we missed you this year, we hope to see you in 09. Thank you Santa. HO HO HO

Thank you Vgallery

This weekend is our first Dog and Cat days of summer event. We actually got the idea from our friends and fellow photograhers from Vgallery. They are based in Morton, IL. I first met them when Vicki came to Dallas to speak to our photography guild. That was years ago. Now her and her husband Jed travel the world and teach about photography. What a fun life! Anyway, back to the animals... I sent out our monthly newsletter and a reminder email will go out shortly with samples from animals that I have photographed in the past. I thought I would try something new. Here is what I have done today. I brushed "shaggy Maggy" and had her model for me. She wasn't too happy about it, but she minds pretty well. When that was somewhat successful, I attempted the cat. Any of you who know my cat, knows... well, I didn't get any pictures.

I hope to see many of you this Saturday Sept 13th for our first "Dog and Cat days of Summer" don't forget to bring your donation for the Carrollton Operation Kindness and don't forget to call to schedule your appointment.

Worst blogger

I have got to be the worst blogger in the history of mankind. I just don't know how people keep up with all of the day to day happenings and then have time to write about it. Let me see if I can catch you up...

We spent all spring photographing the cutest little dancers you have ever seen! We added Dallas Powerhouse of Dance to our schedule this year. It was an amazing experience. I was nervous at first at the size of the school, but it turned out to be a lot of fun. We also photographed our little dancers from Turning Pointe Dance. They have been with us for several years. We have gotten the process down smooth. It is fun watching the dancers grow from year to year.

About a day after we got the dance schools wrapped up, our high school teams started. And then hot on their heals was the 2009 high school seniors. I have tons of images to share with you, but that will be for another day. I promise to catch up.

During all of that, my husband and I snuck off to Cancun. We just love it there. The water and beach is so peaceful. It was not an uneventful trip however. There was the jet ski driver who flipped us over, the bus driver who made us get off at the wrong stop even though we didn't have any money with us and the air condition that went out in the hotel for an afternoon. Overall, it was extremely relaxing. It was the perfect ending to the perfect summer.

Now that school has started and Fall is approaching, I am jumping in with both feet. I am really looking forward to adjusting to my new schedule. (my daughter started Kindergarten)

Please be patient and keep reading. I have a lot of things to share with you.

Building our "bunny set"

As all of you know, you can't rush creativity. I never know when my latest/greatest idea will come. Well, on Saturday morning I decided that I needed a new "set" for our upcoming bunny portraits at The Little Gym. So, I grabbed my assistant and headed to Lowes. We took the only thing in the car we could find to write on (a piece of cardboard) and started sketching our thoughts. We measured the wood carefully and brought home all our supplies. The brick walls wouldn't fit in the car, but a nice man we met in the parking lot helped up squeeze it in.

Once we got home, my assistant insisted on doing all the painting. Between her breaks, she was able to squeeze in some work. We finished up before dark. Now, I'm super excited about our bunny portraits!! The set looks awesome! Oh, and we went on Monday and picked up our bunny. His name is Thumper and he is black and white. You can meet him on Friday at the Little Gym in Carrollton. See you there!!

"Magical"

I didn't really realize what the word "magical" meant until last week. I took my daughter to Disney World in Florida. It was our first mother/daughter trip. We experienced so many firsts, it was incredible. Disney has every tiny detail taken care of. It is truley where dreams come true!! A huge thank you goes out to Shelley at Colwick Travel in Dallas for planning our trip. Here are a few images from the hundreds that we captured.

Happy Valentine's Day

This is my beautiful little daughter!! We took this picture on "Snow Fairy an Snowman" day. She decided to be a snowman.

A Beautiful Day

One of my long time clients called today to place a re-order from her son's wedding. As I was going back through the images I remembered what a great day it was. We got some awesome images. Nancy and Javier have been married for two years in April. And I'm glad to say that they are just as happy today as they were on their wedding day. (accroding to his mom) The wedding and reception was at the Richardson Women's Club and it was catered by Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?
