I think our most offen asked question this time of year is "what should we wear for our family portrait?" That is a great question. I always respond the same way... let's think of where your portrait will hang? If it will hang in a formal room, then maybe you should consider dressing a little more formal to keep with the style and decor of the room. If the room is more casual, then that is the direction we should go. With that in mind, when everyone is the photograph wears colors that compliment each other, the faces become the most important focus of the image.
When choosing clothing colors everyone in the portrait should be in coordinating colors and styles. You do not need to match colors exactly, but choosing complimentary colors is important. Maybe shades of blue and tan, or shades of black and gray, or earthy browns and greens.
Sometimes the simplest portrait will capture the true essence of your family. A timeless wall portrait displayed in your home will make a lasting impression for years to come.
